Research Community

Homes for Animal Heroes

Animal-based research is still critical for saving and improving human and animal lives, and the truth is that dogs, and other animals, are still a necessary part of this process.

The research community has been rehoming research animals for more than 40 years. Some animal rights groups have made it unsafe for the community to continue this loving practice.  This network will allow the group to continue to find the right homes for these heroes, safely and reliably.

AALAS Foundation (American Association for Laboratory Animal Science)

The American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to educational outreach on the essential role of responsible laboratory animal care and use in science to advance medical progress for human and animal health. The AALAS Foundation develops educational materials, web-based public information resources and training materials to help educate the public about the importance of quality laboratory animal care.

Dr. Cotthaus is a proud longstanding member of AALAS. He is a frequent attendee of their national meeting and always returns from their conference inspired and incredibly proud of the work that is being done and of the people who are performing it.
